Isoellen Dark- introducing Isoe Dark

A new name?

I’ve been thinking about adding new pen names for my work for a long time. I’ve held off, because it complicates things as an author. Adding a new pen name essentially means doubling the work on the back end of my author business, while it simplifies the front end on what readers see.

Last year I talked about Isoellen Dark and Isoellen Grey. And, I would keep that branding because I feel like it works. However, online bookstores see this differently. I’m not sure I can keep Isoellen at all. Because I published through Reticent Desire Books with a different ID and a different bank, as far as Amazon and other stores are concerned, Reticent Desires is Isoellen. While we can change that with an official letter and going through the application process again, it feels risky to me in the current amazon environment and it certainly isn’t a change that I can expect to happen quickly.

I’d like to have an Isoellen Dark book, The Commander, out by October, one that I know readers of Choosing Her Alpha are not going to enjoy because of the FMC’s lack of consent at the beginning of the story.

Introducing Isoe Dark or maybe I. Dark?

This story also will not go through my wonderful publisher’s rigorous editing sessions, I’ll be hiring my own person and doing it myself. It’s incredibly scary. I know I’ll do something wrong. I know this book and all future books will have a different feel, almost a different voice since they aren’t going through the same preparation process as Choosing Her Alpha. But I’m a big girl, a grown-up author, and it’s time for me to handle my crap.

So, because The Commander is not like a sweeter, safer Isoellen Gray story, that I know some readers are craving, and because I cannot use “Isoellen,” without some exacting paperwork this next book will either be, Isoe Dark or I. Dark.

I still haven’t decided on what the first part is going to look like. Do you have a preference?

I also have a fantasy series, that I will continue to work on once some things are sorted and that is likely going to get a new pen name too, something really normal sounding, such as Danielle Brooks.

So, here’s to the future. New Names. New books and New ruined worlds.
Are you ready to meet the Commander?
